This course is a comprehensive, 14 CFR Part 61 training program consisting of highly structured ground and flight training lessons designed to equip high school students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully complete their Private Pilot Training.
To be eligible for this course, each candidate must hold a valid FAA Medical certificate and a student pilot certificate and have successfully completed the New Horizons Solo Academy.
Students will spend 1 afternoon a week in a ground school class to supplement a home study course which will satisfy the FAA requirements for ground school. Students will also receive up to 40 hours of flight instruction in a C-150 aircraft while also receiving a comparable amount of time in a table top simulator. Their flight training will take place after school and weekends as they are available.
