Financial Literacy for Transitioning Veterans

« back to classes page
CourseGraphic This  4-6 hour, self-paced course provides all military servicemembers with the financial knowledge to maximize economic and personal objectives when separating from the military through retirement or other military separation procedures. Topics include consideration factors for:
  • salary
  • benefits
  • cost of living comparisons
  • taxes
  • relocation
  • defense contracting
Whether retiring after decades of service or separating after an initial term, this course will provide a return on investment (ROI) based on knowledge and techniques that increase salary and benefits opportunities, cost comparison measures, and planning considerations for the entire family. While the course is beneficial at any point, the ideal time to participate is one to two years prior to separation from service.

Course Benefits:

This course will help you: maximize salary negotiations, understand taxable income requirements, determine salary requirements necessary to maintain your current standard of living, defense contracting pros and cons, and planning considerations for the family. All topics are founded on biblical principles. For less than the cost of one family night out, this course can help you garner or save thousands of dollars and reduce family stress during the transition from military service.

Military recruiters as well as retention officers and retention noncommissioned officers will gain the knowledge to use cost and benefit comparisons to encourage enlistment or retention based on individual servicemember needs.
