General Firearm Safety

CourseGraphic Course Overview:
Liberty University provides Liberty faculty, staff, students, and family the opportunity to practice safe firearm handling through our General Firearms Safety Course. This course is necessary to reserve time at the range. Additionally, it can be used to apply for your state conceal carry permit.
This course includes a 90-minute instructional course, followed by a 30-minute practical range exercise. This class will be held at the Liberty Mountain Gun Club in the Rifle/Pistol Building. We recommend you arrive a few minutes early. Please Note: All participants must be at least 14 years of age. Participants between 14 and 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.   

What to Bring and Wear: 
Please bring your government issue ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.) with you. Attire MUST include a crew neck shirt and CLOSE TOED shoes. Firearms, hearing, and eye protection will be provided to all who attend; however if you have your own firearm and wish to bring it, you are encouraged to do so. If bringing your own firearm, please leave it in your car until after the indoor instruction portion of the course

Registration/Cancellation: 
Seats are limited, so be sure to register ahead of time! Minimum of 2 students per class. To receive a refund for the class, you must cancel at least 1 week before the start date. If you need to cancel your registration, please email CPCE@liberty.edu so we can assist. If the class you are interested in is full, we recommend checking back periodically in case of cancellations.
