These courses are designed to give the student specialized training in international cross-cultural counseling, with both broad cross-cultural application and some focus on Member Care. Member Care is a fast-developing specialty area within the mental health fields that encompasses many issues related to cross cultural work that Christian missionaries experience. Member care increases missionary retention and retention of other international cross-cultural workers through pre-deployment preparation, in-field support, and post-deployment debriefings and re-acculturation.
